A Commercial requisition is an order in which the Requisitioner will be charged for the animals ordered, e.g., ordering animals from a commercial vendor such as Jackson Laboratories or Charles River.
A Non-Commercial requisition is an order in which the Requisitioner will not be charged for the animals ordered, although they may be responsible for shipping costs. Typically, these orders are for mice and rats acquired from a non-commercial source such as a collaborator.
Your PI must provide you the entitlement to order animals on thier protocol. If the tab is not viewable, it indicates you have not been authorized. Ask your PI to amend their protocol, granting you animal ordering privileges. Privileges are protocol specific, so they should be granted in each protocol for which you will need to order animals. Submit an amendment using the EnCCoMPass Protocol Module.
Please refer to How do add, delete, or change entitlements to personnel on my EnCCoMPass Protocol for detailed instructions.
